Re: Gifted Adolescents
Your "refusing to do useless crap", etc. sounds like lack of persistence and discipline to me. A lot of crap is useless, I won't challenge that, but an "I can do it, I just don't want to" attitude leads to no good in my experience. And trust me, I have experience in that area. A ...

Re: Beginner in need !!!
Indeed, this master-disciple thing is pretty awkward. You want to learn how to "hack", so ask that. Asking for someone to be your master is kind of weird. Hacking masters, ha. You don't know jack, CommonStray. Perhaps a sticky post could be made with this question, where all regular member...

Re: Android Compiling Libpcap
I am not familiar with android but I would imagine the first step would be to download the source, ./configure and see what goes wrong.

A calculator is a computer by definition. What you're describing is more like being self-hosting.CommonStray wrote:A calculator that can run a c compiler is no longer a calculator, but rather, a computer.

I've used their services as well and they were very satisfactory. I think there are cheaper places, though.

Re: C++ noob scripts so far
He's using characters, not strings :D True, but gogeta brought up the subject of strings :P I suppose it just depends on your compiler. My compiler will take both of these: char var[] = "Text"; char var[] = {'Text'}; Have you tried printing the second one? My compiler gives the following ...

Re: C++ noob scripts so far
Last time i checked, you're supposed to declare the char type variables like this Declaring them uninitialized is okay as long as you don't read them uninitialized. char var[] = {'Text'}; This is wrong. Strings are double quoted. Strings already are arrays, so no need for the braces. I'll have a lo...

Re: linux firewall
how is the firewall configured on pfSense? directly via netfilter or via iptables iface? not enough time to check the docs at the moment... It uses OpenBSD's pf . Knowing this, the name will make more sense :P It has a web interface. http://www.pfsense.org/screenshots/images/firewall_logs.jpg...

Re: USB malware
It's actually a configuration issue. If your machine is set up to automatically run code from untrusted devices, you are not a clever man.
