Re: update
I think I read it on these forums a long time ago. I am not for sure though. I remember someone saying that perl was a better language for networking aspect. I am pretty sure that was years ago though. I am thinking about sticking with python as the language of choice. Seems like a good area to start.

Re: update
Thank you both. I appreciate the help. I talked to the local college today to see about getting a degree in computer information systems or something related to it. They didn't offer any programs like that but I could take the pre-req writing and math classes offered at the college. I took the place...

Unfortunately they removed the hard drives from the desktop. They did have the ram sticks and everything else in the desktop however. So I have almost acqu...

I am worried about my criminal record interfering with getting a job after completing school though. I have a few felonies. I know I want to start making changes thoug...

Re: viewing windows drive
I will keep it in the back of my mind. I ended up just formating the entire drive. Which kind of sucks means I didn't make any backup of my previous downloads. However now I have room to download more new material.

Re: viewing windows drive
I ended up finding an installer for debian that installed it while in windows. Just like wubi for ubuntu. It installed the base system and kernel just fine. It was pretty intimidated when I first got to the login screen and it was nothing but a terminal. Luckily I just needed to install gnome and gdm.

Re: College- A new direction
I know I don't have to go to a college to learn anything. Its more of way should I pass an opportunity up like this. If they will help pay for school. I qualified for a 5500 pell grant and 9500 stafford loan. I of course don't know if I will get the full amount of the grant or not. If so that could ...

College- A new direction
So after getting off work at 2 am the morning of New years. I came home with the intention to fill out my fafsa. Mind you I don't have my w2 yet so I might have to change some of my tax information when I get that. The great news about that is now that I am 23 before the start of the year I no longe...

Re: viewing windows drive
mount -o uid=1000 /dev/sda2 /mnt Unfortunately I ran into way bigger problems then that. I knew I shouldn't have done it. I formatted the Ubuntu partition while logged into Debian. I wanted to add that partition to Debian. When I restarted and tried to go to the linux boot section. Grub returns a pa...
