Wi-Fi Problem

i recently have just reformatted my hardrive and installed xp media, i got most of the drivers for it from the acer website and installed them but after i installed the driver for my wireless internet i couldnt connect to my router. i have a switch on the front of my laptop which turns it on my built on wireless but when i try and turn it on it dont light up, i also have the same problem for my built in bluetooth, anyone have an idea what i should do?

Don't you have to enter a key when entering with wireless? or you have that off?

i cant even find any networks because my wireless wont turn on

Are you absolutely sure that it's the right drivers for the wireless?`

also check if you can find it in the device manager

is the device recognized in the hardware manager?
is the interface enabled in BIOS?

i checked device manager and the driver is there and the light for the wireless dont even come on during the BIOS

yeah, but is the card recognized? I mean, is the manufacturer's name or model number displayed in device manager? is the card activated in device manager (or what happens when you try to activate it)?

it has the correct manufacturers name but the model number is wrong and when i went on properties of it, it was already enabled.

On the bottom of my laptop it says Atheros AR5BMB5 and on device manager it says Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter.
