Wasted day, good links

Post by DNR »

I was supposed to write a tutorial and got side tracked. I had a really good tutorial planned out yesterday, while I was in the shower getting ready for work, of course nowhere near a laptop and no time..

So on my day off so far this is all I have done, to stumble across some cool links while answering questions in the forum. Maybe I'll spend the rest of the day camping in the IRC forum!

The Sysinternals web site was created in 1996 by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell to host their advanced system utilities and technical information. Microsoft acquired Sysinternals in July, 2006. Whether you’re an IT Pro or a developer, you’ll find Sysinternals utilities to help you manage, troubleshoot and diagnose your Windows systems and applications.

The httprecon project is doing some research in the field of web server fingerprinting, also known as http fingerprinting. The goal is the highly accurate identification of given httpd implementations. This is very important within professional vulnerability analysis.

Besides the discussion of different approaches and the documentation of gathered results also an implementation for automated analysis is provided. This software shall improve the easyness and efficiency of this kind of enumeration. Traditional approaches as like banner-grabbing, status code enumeration and header ordering analysis are used. However, many other analysis techniques were introduced to increase the possibilities of accurate web server fingerprinting

Topic moved to General computing.

I have also stickied this. Reason why i have done this is some good posts get so far back that people only read the active ones. Also i wast to read more on this and think that some other members and new members may also find this interesting.

Some good information here and i was wondering how i had not read it before. I was doing a search on the forum and came up with this. Reason i had not read it was i was in Indonesia at this time.

thanks for the info buddy
