Has anyone tried out DCCP instead of TCP UDP for media streaming / VoIP stuff?
Is there a big diffrence on performance? How more secure is it?

hm, I'm not that much into media streaming, so I never used DCCP, but the big advantage compared to TCP is the scalability of the bandwidth...so if there is a lot of traffic going on it can simply decrease the bandwidth for a user while continuing the stream.
via TCP the stream has a static bandwidth so when too less bandwidth for a user is available the stream stops when the buffer runs empty waiting for the buffer to be refilled.

Its been a long time for me but I think that UDP dose no packet checking. This is good for music because if you missed a packet it wont stop and resend. The music would just have a skip effect in the while playing.
As far as DCCP I don't think it would be better than UDP because of the timing protocols.
