Is your router a broadband router or a broadband router AND a modem? As in, does the modem phone cable fit into the router?
if so, skip the modem and plug the phone cable directly into the router, and that's it.
If not, plug the phone cable into the modem and check the lights if it connects properly. Then take a cat5-6 cable (network cable that you usually use for your computer), there are two different kind of cables here but I wont go through what they are, but you should have gotten a cable with the modem or router that's shorter then regular ones, it's usually blue or red or something. If not just take a cable and try it out.
Anyway, plug the network cable into a network port of the modem and then to the router. Should do the trick.
Then connect a computer WITH a cable to the router and go into the admin interface and check so that the wireless is activated properly and has an ok status.
There, should do the trick...
