power iso/right click problems?[RESOLVED]

Hi guys.

I have a really bizzare error....

whenever I try to use poweriso, it simply does not work. It takes ages to load up, and freezes. I have noticed now that for just about all my dls its takes a long time for the right click menu to appear, and more often than not it freezes resulting in the screen "bleeding."

I thought that by accessing power iso directly and then attempting to load the image files from there, that that would serve as an effective work around solution. Sadly not.

Curiously.....it seems to be only certain downloads that are affected. I have checked things like desktop icons, word files and the like to see if they are affected by this "right click curse." It seems not. :S

NB:

It would seem that in particular, ANY attempt to mount the drivers causes the freezing.....whether that is done via right click menu or whether that is done by accessing Poweriso itself and then clicking on the mount button.

hm, nothing really malicious to find....but I recommend to at least remove jusched.exe from the startup list in msconfig. I don't know if you intentionally installed the yahoo- and mywebsearch-toolbars, if not: deinstall them.
maybe you should also think about getting rid of MS Office and using OpenOffice instead, much more resource-friendly.

but all this is most likely not the reason of the poweriso problem (but depending on your amount of RAM it can be the reason for your computer being generally slow).
maybe you should remove poweriso, run "regcleaner" from the downloads and install it again...

also sp3 is available for XP, its a hugh fuckin DL.

run process explorer - put it into your startup folder, let it boot up and watch your OS settle down. (close lower pane of PE). then use poweriso and watch and see what happens, CPU usage, memory use, and look for hangups.

PnkBstrA.exe is a PunkBuster process, it's used by games to detect cheats. It likes to run even when games aren't active, I have it as well, and I don't see any use in turning it off since it will always turn itself back on again ^^

The other process that DNR mentioned is a search bar tool'ish process, and as b_b mentioned, if you are not using the search bars (tool thingies), you might as well remove them.

well i noticed 3 things i would remove straight away and i have been out getting smashed but they still stick out a mile off.

1. too many toolbars installed. get rid of windows live tool bar and
2. Yahoo toolbar, get rid of that. I know to some its not a big deal but i say it is.
3. My web will be picked up too by spybot search and destroy. run it and delete it.

Not took much notice on the rest as i cant see properly
