When I asked the question, I was wondering for porn. Anyway. I use dwhelper provided by mozilla. It works with a bunch of sites yes including porns.

The videos on youtube are of .flv extension, i.e flash video. (correct me if I'm wrong)
There is an add-on for fire fox called flash get, it specifies all the flash videos on a site, and can download them all, check it out

there is a nice little trick how you can download any embedded videos (ok, 99%).
what you need:
- Firefox
- the Firebug extension for FF, you can get it here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843

load the website that contains the video, open Firebug (through the little bug icon on the lower right corner) and start playing the video.

now check the Flash content, you can easily see by the filesize which one is the actual video:

now copy the location (rightclick on the link and pick it from the context menu):

now paste it into a new browser window and voila:

Firebug is in general one of the most useful FF plugins, not just for that purpose btw...it allows you to change the code of a website within the browser, great for developers.

In Conkeror there is a special youtube-mode (enabled by default on YouTube) that overloads the "save page" function called by pressing the "s" key to list all versions of the movie (standard, sometimes HQ, sometimes HD) and let you download them directly. Example image.

a little after the fact, but I have used a firfox plug in called flashgot for a while without issue.
