VPN help

I am trying to make a VPN connection from my main PC to my laptop on my network but it is not working. any suggestions? It is trying to connect by WAN miniport L2TP. I am getting an error 800.

any ideas on some good programs i can use to connect all my computers in a VPN way? I would like to learn how to do this using windows.

I am googling the hell out of this and i am still unable to create a VPN between the computers. What the fuck!!

My laptop has windows xp on it. I have turned off the firewall.
My PC has windows 7. I have created a call out to it and a RAS dial in interface. I can't connect my phone to my computer and I cant connect my PC to my laptop. any ideas?

Is there some program that would help connect them. Kinda like gotomypc, but free?

I figured out how to connect my windows 7 laptop with my windows 7 pc but now what am i able to do with it. Once AI connect to the lappy i am kicked off the internet until i disconnect. no biggie, but what can i do with my laptop now. I though I would be able to completely control it when i connected. how do i do that now?
