Please help me learn

Post by Pong18 »

any of you know any tutorial sites for Perl and Php similar to this one:

http://www.sthurlow.com/python/

that gives basic to advanced tutorials including giving the instructions on how to begin using the language, what tools you need, what GUI you should use, and more. basically a from idiot coder to master coder type of guide. because you see i just started learning perl and a little php as you can see in my sig and i am craving to learn more.

please please provide me some learning materials.

please post links for training materials. i could also settle for downloadable and free pdf files.

i think it would be better if you could give me free pdfs that i could download because i do not have internet at home and only use internet here at the firm.

thanks in advance!

BTW, i would to get more Perl material. i seem to be more fond of it than PHP

Impatient much?

I can help with PHP. I can tell you right now that you're not going to find a "newbie to master coder" guide anywhere out there. You can only learn so much by reading - you can learn the syntax, you can learn the functions, etc etc. However, any good programmer only got there by experience.

The best way to learn is to read about the language to get an understanding, and then code something. When you hit a wall, ask a question or two ;)

http://w3schools.com/ - You can get started on PHP here.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It works on my machine...

No problem. As for perl, i've never had a need to learn it. Although, the syntax seems pretty similar to that of php's ^_^
