[Playlists] Work music

Post by ayu »

Welcome to the Suck-o playlist project.

I guess most of us has music on in the background while we work.
And personally I need music when I do school related coding, because I always start coding just before the deadlines so that I get really stressed (I'm stupid like that).

Anyway so the idea is really simple here.
I will define a format/template which you use when you want to post music or playlists in different formats here.
You do not have to follow the template entirely if it doesn't suit the way you want to write about and describe your playlist.
So you are free to write it however you want, but I suggest we keep to the template to keep the thread clean.

You do not have to post only your own playlists.
You can also post a playlist or a song from Spotify or Youtube or whatever, that you just found randomly or that you use but did not set up yourself.

If you don't have a source, then you can post just the name of a song as well, or just a genre or band that you like. The above are mostly guidelines that you can follow, but like I say, you don't HAVE to follow them ;)

I will start with posting my "relaxation list" from Spotify

But first, here is the template

Code: Select all

Type: Playlist/Song
Genre/Type: What genre? If you don't know, then describe it
Souce: Spotify/Youtube/Others
Description: Just a short description, what you use it for, or why you created it, or anything else you would like to say about it
URL: URL to the playlist/song
And here is my example

Type: Playlist
Genre: Instrumental/Relax/Calm
Souce: Spotify
Description: A playlist from Spotify that I created for when I am very stressed from and need to just cool my head down. I often combine it with a hot bath or shower ^_^. The songs are mostly instrumental, and very calm and relaxing for the brain.
URL: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hmm, have to open with Spotify. Could you post a screenshot of the playlist instead? :D

Speaking of calm music, I like:
Ryan Farish : " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(if you like it you should check out his album Movement in the light it's awesome!) Great ambient music for sunny spring days. Also it's great for when you travel through a forest or in nature in general :)

Enigma and Massive Attack for rainy days <3

And now to my playlist(s):
While coding / working on something on my computer (trance music):

Code: Select all

Final Fantasy - I close my eyes (Trance mix)
Dreaming (DJ Tiesto remix)
The Cynic Project - Grid (Trance Mix)
Lord Of Tranz feat. DJ Hoxider - Trancestors (Original Mix)
ATB - Let u go
Orbital - Technologicque
Orbital - Tunnel trance
Armin van Buuren - Burned with desire (rising star Rmx)
Armin van Buuren - The sound of goodbye
Armin van Buuren - Yet another day
That will be it for now :)

I like fast, hard music - sometimes no need to understand the lyrics -

Exploited, Suicidal tendencies, Sex Pistols, Circle Jerks, The Meatmen, Subhumans, Minor Threat, Misfits, Bad Brains, and then classics from the old days like The Trashmen's 'Surfing bird", Kraftwerk, Richie Havens
and of course Red Hot Chili Peppers

I lock the doors and crank up the tunes. I love server rooms and labs - restricted area, people get to shake their heads and wonder whats going on in there. The music just allows my ADHD to focus on the tasks.

There is an UNEQUAL amount of good and bad in most things, the trick is to work out the ratio and act accordingly. "The Jester"

funny story about the 2nd song, I had an Anti Nowhere League album ("Live in Yugoslavia") with that song, but it was censored for the german market...instead of "so what, you boring little cunt" it was "so what *beeeeeeeeeeep*", actually half of the song was *beeeep*... :lol:

Type: Song
Genre/Type: Soft music usually, but sometimes could be any
Souce: Mp3
Description: I'd repeat the same song many times before changing to another, the reason being that when my brain gets 'used to' the song, it doesn't respond to it as much as a new song and thus I can focus more on my work rather than the music.
