Had nothing to do tonight so i just wrote something...enjoy my dream game ^^
My dream game
Imagine a game like GTA, with the graphics of GTA as seen in GTA IV. Mix it with some huge MMORPG like World of warcraft or something, what do you get? you get the best game EVER!
Enviorment: The enviorment is very important in this game. I thought of having a kind of GTA IV like enviorment since it looks nice. the enviorment effects must be very precise, like leafes flying arround or the wind moving the trees. Weather effects should have an own system to make it react realalistic to conditions. The game will have 4 large cities and will be a common city style, kind of like NY. If you get wet from rain it should have some effect on you and maybe it's harder to stop the character when running because it's slippery so you might even fall. I mean the effects needs to be worked on these kind of games, it's to sissy and people get bored to quickly.
Playing the game: All the players will have their own appartment and address, you start with a small one and can work your way up to get a bigger one. Since you can't be certain that all the appartements will be taken by players there is also computer controlled players that lives in all other houses and appartments and they "move out" (replaced) when a player joins to take over. All the computer controlled players has a certain routine to follow, like going to work in the morning coming home, eating and going to bed kinda, like an average working person. The jobs and "stuff" to do needs to be ENORMOUS, i mean there should be a job for everyone, from butter factory to big buissnes man, selling donuts, chasing criminals as a police officer, joining the army and living there, flying airplanes between the cities. Of course the game will include veichles, like cars, planes, helicopters mopeds, MC yeah and even horses. Effects like running with the horse needs to be realistic (hell everything needs to be realistic and well made!). Effects like a car crashing should be very real, i mean the car must be as crushed as it is in real life, and the the consuquenses that follow it. You character might even die! of course it can be saved by paramedics, but if not, you will loose your character and it will be announced in the newspaper the next day =(. Of course you can insure everything and make sure that if you die you can still make a new character and make it "inherit" the money and maybe even the house (only 1 active char per player, thinkinh about the appartments). I mean the game needs real consequenses like if you commit a crime you can be put in jail for over a month!. Of course you can get weapons and rob a store, but as mentioned there will be consequenses. You might wonder now "oh my all that data and all those players on one server?...impossible!!", yeah well i thought of this as well, ever heard of a game called EVE? well it uses one large cluster of servers to run one "logical" server where all the players are, and i was thinking that it could be used here too. Functions like remoddeling your house should be in the game of course, no fun with having the same house as everyone else, go down to the store and by a new couch ^^. Since i want a realistic game i dont want any friendlist with some chat, i was thinking of Cell phones, with phonebooks that servers the same purpose, almost exactly the same as the friendlist but the phones will include a sms function a chat function and a voip function. Also there will be no names above everyones head, would be very real if someone hears about a guy named "Kevin mcgear" and they want to kill him, just going out and looking above peoples head ruines the gaming experience. So i was thinking that if you don't "know" a person you will not be able to rekognize the person. Of course you will be able to heavily personalize your characters appearence so that it people might be able to see you in the mass anyway. So the persons will not have names above their heads?!? how am i suposed to find my friends then? well i have thought of this and i came up with that if you add a friend in your phonebook and he/she accepts you and that the person has seen your char before in the game or maybe identified you on a photo, the name would appear above the head making it easy to identify friends. Also if you say your full name out in public in the game, it will appear above your head for a set amount of time (or if anyones "remembers" it) and only for the people near you (that could hear you). The game will have a regular clock (as in not like GTA where 1 hour = 1 minute), although the jobs might need be modified somehow with the times and all, i mean you can't play ALL the time, you need a real life too. So maybe you will be able to job when you are online and not having to keep an eye on work times and stuff. Maybe getting money every hour for the work you have done? Also if you have a car and you crash it, it will not just dissapear, it will stand in the way until you or someone else calls a truck to pick it up (or the computer does it automaticly) and someone has to clean up the road from oil and glass etc.
Conclusion: Just make a real life game with good effects and graphics and a lot of options. or....just make it real life.

thats a great idea.. it makes me want to get into game development lol..
But you know what? This is the future.. Probably this type of games would be common when we have processing speeds of 3 THz with hexa-core processors, and GB's or ram running at atleast 500 GHZ, and also storage capacities of like 250TBs..
But then if we have subsitute for real life, then no one would love in real life.. because they can live a game like this their whole lives, and they can actually fulfill their fantasies. We can add physical effects of good things.. like those simulators and remove bad things.. like gunshots and wounds..
I wish this within my lifetime.. lol
