Kickass Games?

Well... me and my friends were looking for a hot online game. Maybe downloadable and free. We were trying a few games, but none meet our needs. My friend wants some type of adventure game or MMORPG. Any form of MMO would do. Any suggestions of a good game? I am looking for a downloadable game if I had to repeat that.

Me and my friend are cheap bastards and dont want to go and buy an online game like WoW and pay monthly, but want a decent game we can get for free and is LEGAL! Any ideas here? Thanks.

P.S. When I said FREE, i didnt mean warez or cracked, i meant free as in you dont have to pay for it and its actually legal!(Although an online game warez would be nice, suck-o isnt a place for disturbting such content...) Also, any game you prefer that is online would be apperciated, thanks.
