rt8187 driver install help

Post by Kirk »

so i got my alfa awus035H but im having problems installing the drivers for it and getting it to run on my backtrack 5 OS. it comes with a disk that has linux drivers for kernal 2.6, thats what my BT5 is. so i copied the file to my HD then ran the scripts on it to install it but it didnt install. any ideas on what i can do. ill post more detail tomorrow on exactly what i did etc.

SOLVED the rtl8187 driver comes stock on BT5. its on the blacklisted drivers so i just had to enable it.

open a terminal and type
modprobe rtl8187

after that i ran a iwconfig and it comes up as my wlan1 interface. on to creating a honypot. anyone got any good tuts on it?

I assume you will use honeyd? check the documentation, it also includes some good example configurations:
http://www.honeyd.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

:wink:
