compile windows drivers into linux

Computers are not built to be sound-systems, they're invented to compute.
If you want a soundsystem, then ye should go to Bang&Olufsen or something.

Also, if one actually *reads* the GPL that comes shipped with linux, it is states that "the product may be not fitful for any purpose and even not guaranteed to work" .. or something in that flavor.

I am sorry, i am one of the rare cases that uses a computer to program & develop things, maybe i am doing something wrong .. just a thought.

You may be surprised/annoyed to discover a lot of stuff doesn't work with Linux ;)
The gnomes behind Linux do not get huge fees to write compliant device drivers like the trolls from Intel and others get fees from Microsoft to develop drivers and support.
Don't think compliance/non-compliance : think dollars, it is all dollars.
