Damn, i just thought i'll switch to Debian for all the good reasons but the fact which is really pissing me off is that my mouse is not working... at all
It worked only the first time when i installed gnome..
after that its not working at all... its an optical usb mouse, the light is on but still pointer wont move
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf when i put port as /dev/input/mice or mouse0 it wont start x server and says xf86OpenSerial, cannot find device /dev/input.....
When i change it to anything else.. the mouse simply wont work...
I've tried /sbin/modprobe usbmouse.. still no use
earlier i saw the blacklisted modules in file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist and it had blacklisted usbmouse.. but then i removed that.. and still its not working
and cat /dev/input/mice says "no device found"
I m sure it has something to do with modules at the boot time... any way to see what all modules are loaded? any program for configuring?
i looked in almost all files in init.d and rc.d etc but i dont think problem lies there...
and why did it work first time... and when i booted it never worked again...
what shall be done?
i did a network install, is it possible to configure boot time options without need to reinstall again?
coz network install took me like 5-6 hours...
Its really pissing me off.. i will die of tabbing...
Ah.. debian killed my usb mouse
