backtrack

i am thinking to switching completely to backtrack2 so what are the advantages and disadvantages ?

hm, imo Backtrack isn't the best choice as a full desktop system, simply because it's too specialized. due to the lack of precompiled packages you would have to install every application from source and compile it by hand which can be a pain in the ass because you would have to install every dependency by hand too....so it's nothing or beginners.
a better choice would be to create a dualboot system with XP AND Backtrack, here's a real nice HOWTO movie:

but if your system supports booting from USB installing Backtrack on an USB stick would be the smartest solution imo: http://backtrack.offensive-security.com ... :USB_Stick

i woudlnt prefer the backtrack because there is too many problems with it :?
