Vmware on Ubuntu 7.04

Post by Lyecdevf »

I have tried several times to install Vmware on my box. I followed some instructions on the net.

It tells me that I should install it this way:

tar -xzf /Path/To/VMware-server-1.0.3-xxx.tar.gz

So I would generate the command some thing like this:

tar -xaf /lyecdevf/home/VMware-workstation-6.0.0-45731.i386.tar.gz

So the first thing it tells me to use the command like this:

`tar -xaf /lyecdevf/home/VMware-workstation-6.0.0-45731.i386.tar.gz

So that is what I put in but than the terminal gives me this charactare:

>

So no matter what I type after that nothing happens. Even when I type exit.

Note: I posted this thread in combination with the VMX builder because I would really like to find a way to start building some virtual machines on my box. So if you can not help me with this one maybe you could help me with the other.
We will either find a way, or make one.
