Multiple wirless cards ubuntu

Post by visser »

Ok well what im trying to do is a little bit of wardriving. lol. ive got a fully compatable usb device. by fully compatable i mean it is listed on the aircrack site and told exactly how to use it. so i figured i would give it a try. im having some troubles tho.

im running on a lap top. so ive already got a crad built in. and the driver comes preinstalled. i cant patch it??? ive tried to do it like they do on the aircrack site (http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=r8187) but it wont work. i think that the biggest problem is because wlan0 is my wirless card inside of the laptop. so how am i supposed to get the usb to work when i have the wireless card in my way?

edit: this is the site for the wireless driver http://linuxwireless.sipsolutions.net/en/users/Download
my wirless card is an Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN

EDIT of the EDIT: i got it working. i got it set up so that it was recognizing the usb. it can see it and all that jazz. i type into the terminal airodump-ng

Code: Select all

airodump-ng wlan1
but. now it says that the resources are busy.

Code: Select all

ioctl(SIOCSIWMODE) failed: Device or resource busy
ill post for help in the wardriving section! :P

ANOTHER FLIPPING EDIT: the drivers arnt working. so i would apreciate some hlep. lol. ive been all over here. i cant figure this out. ive searched for hours on end! please help! lol im desperate
