Running Linux On An Ipod

Hey Guys Can I Install Suse Linux On An Ipod And Run It On My Laptop From A 4GB Ipod :?: Thanks For Your Help! :twisted: :evil:

I don't think you can really run linux on an ipod... there wouldn't be any need to, really. And i don't understand the 2nd part of that question.

I *really* doubt you could run the whole Suse Linux OS on the iPod. However a quick Google search pulled up this website: www.ipodlinux.org

(You can run Linux on Ipod Nano for sure.
I for myself have two nanos and wanted to play videos on them. So i read some texts about it. But I'm not sure weather it was Suses Linux.)

Oh Chaos means that he INSTALLED it on the Ipod and started it from the PC. ^^ My friend hast DSL (damnsmalllinux) on his 2g USB Stick. :)

if u can boot from the ipod i think its possible since it just acts as a 4g hard drive, maybe ill give it a try with my creative zen microphoto 8g :twisted: seems like fun.

yes, yes you can. Make sure your BIOS allows usb or ext hd to boot first.

I have done it. Make sure your ipod is "write disk enabled"

nothing hard
