Post by ayu »

Does anyone have or know where to find a copy of Debian 3.0 Woody?

Not 3.0rc1 >= ... it has to be 3.0

Thanks in advance : - )

hm, hard to find.....the only thing I found is a jigdo download, no idea if the files in the template are still online but it's worth a try:

http://us.cdimage.debian.org/jigdo-area ... igdo/i386/
http://atterer.net/jigdo/

bad_brain,
Do I download the .template files only or both? I have not installed the tool yet.

I just did a quick check, seems you have to enter the URL for the .jigdo file and the app loads the template files then....so actually you don't have to download anything manually...

um, but don't get Woody....it's completely outdated and not supported anymore, cats needs it for experimenting I guess.

if you want to get Debian get the up to date stable release (Lenny):

I'm trying to exploit some vulnerabilities in the Openssl library shipped with that distro.

bad_brain,

I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong, but after I couldn't get the tool that comes in the Ubuntu reps to work I downloaded the .deb from the debian webpage (couldn't get the GUI for the tool to work, I'm trying this on my laptop). On the command line give it this path: http://us.cdimage.debian.org/jigdo-area ... igdo/i386/
but it says the directory doesn't exist.

I installed it from here: http://packages.debian.org/lenny/i386/j ... e/download
and it installs something called jigdo-lite in /usr/bin.

I'm now trying with this file
http://us.cdimage.debian.org/jigdo-area ... 86-1.jigdo

Shabs.

Well it says 131 files missing, and I've tried servers in Sweden, Germany and the US. Any other way I can get this distro?
