And before throwing money for chunk of code, I would make a really good design...

lots of things you need

Post by DNR »

what codec are you planning on writing this in?
Do you have a cartoon book drawn up, character work-ups, story-line?
You do have a contract that states deadlines, conditions to be met, and of course, payment as each step is done.

I get the feeling this is a dot.com going to go bust. Take your money and spend it on school.

This is true to an extent but you can also spend money to lose money, too.

I am sitting on about 4 or 5 business venture ideas of which I have yet to act on due to money constraints and still TONS more planning to do on each and every one before I will consider making a sure fire attempt on the venture. My thoughts are that you are inexperienced, unprepared and would be better off saving your money and spending it on school before you make an attempt. Or, if you do spend the money at least spend it my way instead of tossing it off to big corporations and banks when you go under.

My biggest concern is that you are looking for 'programmers for a game' yet you don't even know what programming language you will utilize for this game or at least didn't specify. By the way, game programming and application programming are two very distinct things.

Regardless, good luck and I hope you don't lose all your money.

Start by answering DNR questions... here's some more:

1. What type of game you plan to do...? Action? Adventure?
2. What kind of plateform? Webbased?
3. Will network be involve?
4. What is the target audience for your game?
5. Do you plan to make money from it?
6. Will you use open source engine?

6. Will you use open source engine?
1. The game is an action First Person Shooter
2. This is going to be a webbased game
3. Yes network will be involved
4. The target audience for this game is 13-21 years
5. First we do not plan for money but if it gets going we will have free and pay-to-play servers
6. Yes we are going to be using the source engine.

I have the base code done all I need is this code modded to do what I want.

AND NOW, the important questions <redux>
what codec are you planning on writing this in?
Do you have a cartoon book drawn up, character work-ups, story-line?
You do have a contract that states deadlines, conditions to be met, and of course, payment as each step is done.
When do we start?
