Warez. Yes. No. Why?

Post by TheKingOfHearts »

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warez - explanation of warez :D

What i think Warez is good for:

Warez is a economically unfair thing, or is it?
I will make a example from my life. Before did any gfx and anything good and nice i did it all on paint :D then i stole a Photoshop 7 and the legend begins. Then i used a keygen to make my Photoshop CS2 legal so its full and everything. My idea is that Warez can be a really helpful thing. First I dont have dad to buy me Photoshop. Second i dont think i can afford Photoshop by myself. Conclusion, i woudnt been able to do the things i do right now if i didnt use Warez.
Many people abuse that aka resell it (you really have to be flaming homo to try that). I have stoled many movies and many other applications and mp3s. How is that economically ok? Well after i am really boss at life and i have 20 grand in my pocket then you think ill actually steal something? By doing this i have developed instead of sitting on the same chair. And I share the fame i give others the newest stuff. Being a spoiled brat wont teach you anything about life :). You only start noticing that you smile after you cry.
Warez is something i need because i like to test before i buy. It is highly illegal. It is dangerous because you might get viruses and etc. but i still do it because make me see things i wont be able to see w/o that 20 grand in my pocket :).

i vote Yes! for the inspiration Yes! for the learning and NO! for the reselling and making money out of others peoples work.

Yeah i was just wondering what you folks think about Warez?

Being a open source kind of guy i'm not really into pirating software. I'll look up the occasional cd-key for a game and whatnot but that's about it. Free is just a better feeling. And I don't really see it as stealing.

But I would have never seen half the movies nor discovered all the types of music I like if it weren't for warez sites and whatnot. I also wouldn't have crashed my computer 50 bajillion times before I found out limewire type programs are the devil. but that's another ball game.

Warez provide a simple way of getting malicious programs out on the net and well.... it's just retarded. I still haven't figured out how people code viruses into movies and still keep the content intact and whatnot.

I have to agree with p99, I'd much prefer to find free software.

However, there are some things that aren't free: music, video games ect.
Only when I know I can't afford it and know that I can play multiplayer online, I'll download/pirate it. This isn't often, though.

The only 'pirating' of DVDs is if a friend has it and I'll make a DVD. And I work on a give/take basis meaning when I take and make a copy of a DVD I try to make it a point to give back.

The only think I dislike about warez is when you get yourself a copy of phtoshop CS2, I don't think adobe really care about this. What hurt the economy IMO is that the little buisness who try to make an alternative software for those who can't afford 800$ on a software can't get customer because they simply go for the pirated big one.

This thread would be cool with a poll. It is a simple yes and no question.

I used to be completly crayz about warez when I was using windows. Now I use linux and have not got the hang of it yet. What I do know is that most programs in Windows OS that I used as cracked versions I can get in Linux for free.

If I ever get caught hacking or some thing like that I do not dozens of cracked programs to be found on my computer. That would get me into even more trouble.
We will either find a way, or make one.

In my opinion and depending on the day it can switch. I believe knowledge is power and thus if you can crack, or get a crack for a program then you earned the program.

However I know what it is like to have my software stolen and so I felt the pain of not getting paid for my hard work. Granted I am not a huge company. I guess what it all boils down to is - do what you do and, as long as you can sleep at night then it must be ok with you.

Well, when warez and cracks as well as keygens come into term, lots of users tend to look for a free way out. Its sorta a hacker ethic, I say:
Why pay for something when you can get it for free?
I personally love keygens and serials. But now in these days cracks + keygens have become more spyware then rather what it is advertised to be. Yes, we all have limwire and bittorrents and we all try to download free software. The goverment as well as the companies are trying to stop so by adding "extra" peices to programs. A method introduced by Microsoft was to actually create viruses to promote to buy more of there products, would you think Adobe made a virus infected keygen to spy on the people and later crack them down? Most likely no, but when the goverment is invovled with new development of Vista, who knows. I think if the companies truly cared for warez, then maybe they will patch up there programs. Its just as simple as that. Its like the companies tell hackers to hack there products because they decide to rush up on there work and cause security holes and vurnablities. This is there falut, not ours. I think, warez is a good way to help us keep up to date with the rich guys. Normal people cant afford Photoshop or Macromedia for just playing around and stuff like so, so what do we do? Get it free, and thats that. This is a free choice we take, and I dont think much of it, I just pray to the hacking god that there is a keygen out there for that new game.

I feel sorry for the people who put hours and hours of effort into some software for some little prick to come along and treat it like freeware.

That is one of the reasons I do not use windows any more. Every program that you want you need to buy. In linux all of them are free.

The lengths gone to secure programs against cracking dictate how easy the program is to crack, and so to the extent of one's ability and learning, one can set the difficulty of the crack. If a person or company is really bothered they can usually track down main distributing websites, making their program only available cracked to a small audience, which doesn't put too much of a dent in their profit (Although this is near impossible, depending on demand for the software). Nerdzoncrack is correct however, and given even a large amount of warez circulating, bigger companies are aided as it keeps their software out there.

Sorry I know this has grown a lil old but it caught my interest and my type of topic!!!!!

Waraz is only dangerous if you are not carefull and dont block it from spying and the active x java scripts etc from running like useing Avant browser!!!! If you use that and turn off flash and all extras it can be safe and not get you!! now a far as the morals of it all well I see the point of the small and big ones wanting the support and money for there hard and believe me I know weeks and months if not more of hard ASSS work!!!!
BUT I am a dirt poor person On disability cannot hardly evan afford to eat some weeks I am not going to pay $50 to $999 or more for software I can damwell crack etc or movies I can find sorry all you companies us poor people have to eat and live and our little deeds are not going to knock half the companies profit margines even A penny down now the little companies yea sorry guys we might hurt them quit a bit more but I see it as they come and go so much and every week and month anyway!!
But thats my veiw and opinion
