Scamming, scammers.

Post by Big-E »

What is your take on scamming someone who is trying to scam other people? Do you think it`s ethical, fair and perhaps touch base on the legal aspects. Before I post my opinion, I am interesting in hearing some of your opinions.

well, it's like when a bully that likes to beat up smaller children accidentally messes with one that trains karate since years and gets his ass kicked...nobody will feel sorry for him...
"legal" is not always the same as "ethical".....like DDoS'ing a site that hosts child porn: totally illegal, but as long as no collateral damage to innocent 3rd parties is done (other sites on the same server in my example) I see no problem in it, because it's more than unlikely the "victim" will complain....and no victim = no crime.

so for me it's fair....to be honest I already thought about answering one of those "hellu, my name is alberto mtombo, president of blahblehbluh..." mails too, just to see how far I can push it... 8)

Yeah, I don't see anything wrong in scamming those MSN scams
It's for the well being of the numerous stupid people that actually believe in it ( ](*,) )

To get burned :)

I don't mind those who have fun with them... like the one who asked him to tattoo something into his face or on his arm because of religious stuff 8)

street has a point, why get caught up in the cycle the scammers perpetuate? You are better off staying focused on your own life and plans.
Scammers, they eventually get what they deserve.
I'll be the first to admit I like to fuck with people like scammers, but from experience, once you let these people get involved in your life, its trouble brewing.

I'm against scammers. But on the other hand, if you're dumb enough to fall for a scam - you need to be taught a lesson.

thats very true. One of my mates who considers himself as a "smart" person got fooled by one of the MSN scams that said "YOU HAVE WON ONE MILLION DOLLARS"....he was so happy until he had wasted his precious week to find out it was a SCAM...

I wanted to say this, I disagree with "if you get scammed you deserve it".

People that are greedy enough to get all fixed up over a letter saying they won a million dollars, maybe deserve a little wake-up call. But many people that get scammed by Idenitity theft, Ebay sales, job wages, and insurance payouts - were actually legitimate people that deserved getting what they paid for.

In my hacking POV, I try to help inform people of malware, hoaxes, nigerian scams, etc as an effort to better my community, hence my world. I have always stood up for the little people that got picked on for little or no reason by a bully. And a scammer is nothing but a bully trying to swindle you out of your property or money.

I wrote this just to encourage everyone here to be proactive about scams, to shut them down or educate your friends and family - rather than standing by. Its a part of being the solution, not a part of the problem. Nobody deserves any ill will, they just need education.

This tele-sales job im working at has "SCAM" all over it

they have 10 or 12 total employees. i've worked there 2 days.. in the 2 days they've had atleast 6 or 7 people go in and out allready, they take 50$ out of your first check for the states telesales linsence you have to get, since every employee is considered contracted i guess, they dont take tax out of your checks you have to pay it yourself at the end of the year, and most employees work only one or two days there and get fired or quit (hence 50$ minus their 1 or 2 day paycheck at 7$/hr). 2 of the 3 so called floor managers have been there less then 2 weeks. They advertise on craigslist everyday to hire and claim they will let you work the same day they hire you. Their commissions are impossible to achieve. No one has made commission or even comeing close to it from the charts i have seen, so its pretty much 7$/hr w/ false hopes of getting 12 to 13/hr on commission
One has a prison tattoo on his face which means he killed ten people. The other 2 looks like they do waaaay to much coke. I hear them sniffing all the time like they have a nasal drip (constintly going in and out the bathroom), plus know how coke addicts act because i have been around them before. The boss has tons and TONS of money from screwing people over. I must have called atleast 1000 people today on my 6 hour night shift. Its so obvious when im reading their script it almost feels immoral trying to sell some of these people this crappy package. Got cussed out by a 6 year old kid as well on the phone today. The job really sucks but I have to do this crappy job until i get another one because i have bills to pay and dont make enough with my home business.

Luckily I work night shift and can interview in the day for another job. I have an interview tommarow morning so wish me luck lol its alot farther drive but they claim to start at 13/hr and its all inbound calls about sports and entertainment tickets and such. This sounds much better.. cant wait to get out of this hell hole job. Every 15 minutes sitting there i am so tempted just to walk out, but keep thinking to myself.. how will i make my car payment then? or payback money that is owed , that extra little 250$/week is better then nothing until i get something better.. anyways now im ranting but i see no problem with scamming scammers. People that run the type of business im working at now are fucking people over i think our sales count was 101 times today.

Not to mention, most of the sales are elderly people who cant keep up with the fast talking and will probuly get ripped off, if they dont cancel in a certain time or whatever
