what was the last movie that really impressed you? I mean REALLY...not like "wow, that one special effect was cool!".
the last one that really moved me was "Below sea level", it's already from 2008, but well...it's not a movie you hear or read about from ad campaigns, so I stumbled over it a few days ago.
it's a documentary about people that live in the California desert in the middle of nowhere...all broken characters somehow. very interesting and moving to see how they manage to make a living, sometimes really funny, sometimes really sad.
I highly recommend it: http://www.nisimazine.eu/Below-Sea-Level.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: the last movie that impressed you
it was a fucked up plot, but the special effects looked good.

Clash of the Titans Part 1
This was a conflict between the Greeks' ancient Gods, the
Titans because they supported different people on Earth.

The Avengers was worth all 27 years of waiting
On the other hand, Snow White and the Huntsman was pretty underwhelming.

Re: the last movie that impressed you
I missed the point here, i had posted too quickly.
Movies that made a weird lasting impression?
I know its stupid, but I still remember, "War Games".
The "Matrix" was clever enough about how people are 'batteries' for big corporations and governments - that I still think about it.
Seeing movies like "Apocalypse Now", "Platoon", and "Full Metal Jacket" are too comfortable, it is a sign of how I was brought up around the news broadcasting the vietnam body counts at dinner time (TV dinners!), warriors in the family, and the american fighting spirit.
Movies with heros like Clint Eastwood - "Magnum force", "The guntlet", even his cowboy movies - inspired my style of dealing with people in the public (always with some sarcasm).
I would also suggest people watch "The Vanishing Point" I liked the 'american anti-hero' style.

Of course I liked the Mad Max Trilogy, with Mad Max being the favorite.

scene clip from vanishing point (spoiler alert! movie ending)
