sorry, haven't been around for a while

After my last rant I droped out of site for a while. I wound up with a new job that required most of my time and with an intermittent internet connection I have not been on in a while. I have not forgot about you and plan on putting my two cents in again. My job is going to require most of my time for the next few months as I have to go pass a few certs and go in for more training. I have decided that cisco training sucks but anyway back to fun things. I installed mint 13 on the wifes laptop and can not change the users permissions. what am I missing?

With your issue regarding Mint do you mean you can not login as root? Or do you want to set up a user and change there permissions?

and yeah, specify the problem a little more precise:

- no login as root?
- not able to su into another user account?
- or permissions in context with file manipulation?
