I have read that animal(s) can testify in court. Bloodhound's evidence is admissible in US.
In some European countries, I have heard that German Shepard, Dutch Shepard and Belgian Malinois are used for tracking down criminals. But is their evidence is admissible in the courts?
Which other animal can testify in court? And in which countries?

When an animal testifies (first hand experience by the witness) how do you cross examine it?

Testimony of bloodhound is valid (only in US) because it has around 230 million scent receptors and they can trail individuals to several days.
And I don't know how do they cross-verify it. I'm not in law field.

hmmm...never heard of that, and I actually doubt the doggie will sit on a chair then and has to face Matlock...
but a dog can surely provide evidence, just think about the dogs at the airport which, when react as trained, allow customs office to suspect you of drug possession for example. and there is also the point (in my opinion): the dog has to be trained and certified in some way.

Don't you think that animals can also lie? Which holy book do they use to swear to tell
nothing but the truth?

You don't need any holy book to say the truth. They may not lie, they may misguide, unknowingly?

On the the other hand, I think animals are more likely to "tell" the truth than humans are.Hiram wrote:Don't you think that animals can also lie? Which holy book do they use to swear to tell
