How much should I charge to be a network admin ?

Post by floodhound2 »

Need a little advice. How much should I charge to be a network admin at a law firm that has a server and 25 computers? They want me to work part time, fix all PC’s that are infected with malice code, and up-grade the network including VOIP. I need American wedges per hour or salary. Keep in mind I already have a full time job as an Electronics Engineer so this would be mostly for me training purposes and a little income.

ffloodhound take whatever you want to charge and add at least $5 dolloars more. Lawyers will rather not put up with the hassle of sensitve data being lost, and a big tip? Let a lawyer think he is control and that you are saving him money.

Then, he is your friend for life...

Yes I think it is a great opportunity, but I am a little nervous due to a lack of experience. I am basically an electronics engineer that loves computers. I don’t know we will see what happens. If I get fired or get o stay.

If you need any help, i specialize in web-based programming and windows security (and i know some linux stuff now too, thanks to b_b  ). I can probably help with some networking issues involving routers, ports, etc.

Feel free to ask anything, because I, and i'm sure other people are willing to help out. :)
