For me, my favorite shape is the triangle. No matter what direction or angle you put it, you will always have one point at the top, and two other points subordinate to it, and yet, all three lines feed into one another.
For me the triangle is love=obedience=authority.
Those are the three "virtues" as I call it that motivate my life.
When I was younger, I ran around my garden and in my street filled with masculine role models such as Dick Tracey, Richard Conte, and Elliot Ness. I always wanted to be gangster, Roman legionnaire, FBI agent, priest....so many organisations where power and authority was earned and maintained through a blessed fraternity of men, working together.
A couple of words that sum up my mentality are "feudalism" and "vassalage" and this quote always stuck with me:
"I shall be to my lord and master, be true and faithful, to love all that he loves, and shun all that he shuns."
Feudalism and vassalage whilst keeping with the notion of fraternity, both recognize that in the world people are not equal. My genuine view is that of a pyramid, where the man at the top rules and imposes his will, and that his vassals, his loyal subjects, swear blind fealty to that will. Samurai where especially fond of this.
I would also admit that I am a Fascist. before there is a collective gasp and horror at that dirty word, yes, Hitler and Mussolini were Fascists. But Fascism itself is a system of government founded and exercised during the rule of the Roman Empire, and advocates as ever, the few leading the many.
I believe in power, authority and respect. I believe that yes, there are people who are better in the world, and those who are less so. But for the vassals, the superior owes them a duty. By virtue of the superior being stronger in whatever manner he is, he then owes a duty to protect and keep safe the vassal.
for those who sneer and mock those weaker and less forunate than themselves, I have no time for. They are imo in breach of their natural contract, to love and protect their subjects, and nothing more than a beastly coward. I have no time for such men of clay.
It is odd, but I have a dear friend on this site. He is odd, and eccentric, but charmingly so. He is innocent, and views the world with a child-like perspective that in an age and forum of cynicism, and intrigue is rather refreshing. To him, I am Swan:his friend. I only hope that one day he realizes his own potential, to reject the loathsome words that people put his way.
In fact, this member has drawn more out of me, taught me more about myself as a person and generally enriched me as a person, that i honestly dont know how to thank him. At times, I have to really wonder as to who is the master of the relationship, this member seems to know the recesses of my mind far far better than I even know myself.
Good on you son! You are my right hand man indeed.
