How to quit gaming

Post by einax17 »

I know many of you here are gamers, I was one myself too.
And I know it's hard to quit World of Warcraft. Here's what I did:

-Spend all of your salary/money on stuffs like books, food or expensive stuffs and Never use it on games or consoles.
-Be an asshole in the game.
-HAX! Hacking/Cheating in game will get your account banned.
-Uninstall the game.
-Burn the DVDs! It's fun :D
-Love naruto? Throw the DVDs like shurikens.

I know this isn't much of tutorial but i hope it would help someone here.

Actually gaming became a problem for me for the first time this year. I graduated from college recently and have a real job. So i would come back home and instead of doing usefull things i would play company of heroes all day.

I had to put a stop to it because i just should not sit in a chair after 8 hours of sitting in a chair. So i had to uninstall the game. nothing else worked.

It was different in college, i had nothing better to do lol

Yes i agree with that but, all of those gaming really made me retarded. Gaming isn't the only way to kill time. Now, if i had the time, I'd study, and to become better than everyone (IRL).
But of course studying isn't the only thing i would do. That would make me a super nerd :<

I used to play WoW like 16 hours a day in the summer, but I quit. I still play a lot of Counter Strike and Team Fortress 2 (few hours a day). I don't see anything wrong with gaming, as long as it doesn't effect your work, playing video games a few hours a day after work is fine.

well usually a game has to play itself out. I think what kills a game for me is when the AI becomes predictable - then it loses my interest.
I don't like things repetitive, I like new challenges.

There is plenty of time for everything, its a matter of being organized.
If you got time to watch TV, you got time to waste.

BTW I think games train the mind to develope strategies, plan actions/reactions, make quick decisions, and multitask 'what if' scenarios. It is a training device. There is a reason the military uses games to train its soldiers.
Depends on the game, if you are getting any training - great.

Few hours a day is fine..

Anyone with High Warlord or Grand Marshal would of had to play like 18 hours a day for 3 months, and there are at least a few thousand of them.

That's why you play online games.
