I made an offer of $2.00 and got this response:
Your entry contains errors

Your offer is too low.
Unfortunately, your offer is too low and cannot be accepted. Please submit an offer above the seller's minimum bid threshold of 10000 $US.
$10000? fuck that.

10.000 bucks? now way, he can be REALLY happy if he makes 1000, nobody with money (and interested in making more of it) would touch such a domain with a 10ft. pole.
I guess he did some domain name appraisals and thought "wohoo...I am rich!!"...bud sadly such appraisals are 100% theory. the real value still depends on good old demand and supply, and now imagine who is on the "demand" side: definitely not people that can pay 10000 bucks out of the petty cash.

and not to forget the follow-up cost the new owner has to deal with when the domain is already known to be a DDoS target:
- good server admin(s) available 24/7
- a good server with hardware firewall
just to cover the running costs the site would have to be plastered with ads already, and visitors would have to click, click, click and buy, buy, buy.

Its the classic sales pitch, you always have someone else interested and its first come first served which is a case of pressure sales into you getting in first when really there is never a second person waiting. I use this sales tactic for almost everything i can :D

I stick with BB's take on the site - its a bullseye already and there is no money on the site as is.
use the $10k on your college education.
