How Apple got its name?
I read one story stating that, Steve Jobs wanted to give a nice name to his company. He didn't find any suitable name. He called his two employees, and gave them time till evening to find a suitable name for the company, otherwise he will name it whatever he is doing at that moment.
At 17:00, they returned with no answer. At that time Steve Jobs was eating apple, so he gave the name Apple.

Anybody knows the real history behind its name?

Well,I read that he got the name while he was working in a community type farm in Oregon and it inspired him to name the company Apple Computers or something along that line.....

There are differing versions of how the company came to be known as Apple. The one I heard was that Steve Jobs used to work summers at a California apple farm and was fond of apples. He also admired the Beatles' record label, Apple, which was formed in the late 1960s. According to this version of the story, Wozniak and Jobs settled on Apple after they could not think of a better name.
