Aside from the picture being unreadable, even after some graphical magic, I find the idea of a jpg virus unlikely.
A while back, maybe 2002, there was a virus that was hidden in jpg's using stenography(w32/perrun) but it was a two stage virus the infected jpg, and the extractor... but it was more of a curiosity then a threat as spotting the modified image was fairly simple(it's size jumped dramatically, and often the image was corrupted).
Anyhow, the root of the story is that opening a jpg file will not infect your computer, but rather an infected computer can pull information out of modified jpg's.
I went as far as removing the email address from your post (bad form), but I don't see a reason to completely drop it from the rolls... it's early though and I haven't had my coffee.
