http://www.wolframalpha.com is new search system which you really should try. I was amazed when I saw this search system abilities 8O

I agree that wolfram alpha is awesome but I wouldn't compare it to google because they really aren't competitors or search engines in the same way. For example if you put a word porn to google it will give you links to porn sites but if you put it to wolfram aplha it just gives you the definition of porn.

for the best search engine you have to pick the one that crawled the most of the internet. Google does have a pretty large cache of whats on the internet. Some search engines might have smaller DBs but provide more local content that would otherwise be google toplisted out. Google can return 200 pages on alt.hacking, and the neat article you are looking for might be on page 15, link #175 - something you might pass over because of the nfo overload. It just makes sense to check more than one SE DB.

Well the thing is, Wolfram Alpha is not meant to be a Google alternative. It's a computational engine.

Your not going to goto Wolfram Alpha to say, find a person you know. Or get relative links about information security, to using boolean values to narrow your search.

Your going to use it for figuring out complex mathematics, finding statistical averages on the fly etc...
