Viruses and Spyware

OK I will try this again since enough posts get done about this stuff so you don't like this stuff it!!

Number one viruses are not that much of a threat anymore at least not in the USA WE mainly have Active x java and other bullshit that harasses and infects the PC.

Right or wrong that statement I have seen over the last 4 years more Spyware and that crap infections than maybe one or two viruses!!!

So its a good bet no matter what the hell the symptoms are you have a very nasty case of Spyware NOT A VIRUS!!! but theres a very small chance it could be.

So the best and number one thing to do shut the dam thing off!!!
then take the drive out!!
then find any PC that will read that hard drive or a hard drive card for $15 that will work in any old ass piece of crap and make it read the newest hard drives!!!!!
Now you have this PC loaded with spybot adaware etrust pestpatroll and all the rest of them and you scan for hours that hard drive you just installed for crap!!
and once all the crap is found and cleaned you put it back in the PC its from and you scan it some more and it will find more I guarantee it!!
you will need to do this at least 2 or 3 times more to be sure its all gone on the PC then it should be fine again!!!

I recommend Etrust pest patrol over all the others it works the best and finds the nastys that lock the PC up looking identical to viruses it is the only one I have found and trusted to be able to find some of these!!!!

And most of your virus software now like what was my favorite AVG and the others now detect and remove with out asking or saying a word your keys keygens cracks etc and also they REMOVE your cracked exe the program itself is now gone so when you go to click on it it wont work because they deleted it thats why I stopped using antivirus!!!!!!

Plus if you use like I have talked about a simple walk away process of backing up your PC once a week or more by Ghost or other program to recovery disks then there is no problem and you just restore to before the problems or infections very very very easy!!!!!

I use a simple linksys router and a few not going to name all my security for obvious resons but anyway. like one is the one everyone hates and cannot get right zonealarm pro on some of my PCs in this house the other is they are all just backed up so who cares if I reload off and on.

Nice post but I wish to add some other information only applicable for windows users.

I fully believe that nothing in life is free and keeping this in mind I ask; why do all of you use free spy-destroyer software or free antivirus software? You think it is free? You think that the company that wrote the program wants nothing from you? I am not 100% on this but I think they are going to monitor you as well. As a side note: For years I have never ran any type of spyware removal software or anti-virus software on my PC’s!

I am my best spyware destroyer and this is how I do it…

I recommend that you never go to a warez sites and download from them
I recommend that you stay out of porn sites
I recommend that if you need to download a file send it to yourself and use the email provider’s virus scanner like google or yahoo etc.

Ok, you still go to porn and warez sites? Well here are some things I do to clean my and others PC.

First thing I do is check some easy things and take notes. I like to do an msconfig to see what is running and if it is something that has been added with out my consent, or if I find something suspicious about it I write it down on paper.

Next I do a Ctrl+Alt+Delete and check all processes. Take note to things that are suspicious and using up CPU cycles again taking a note of the name/s.

After this I go into the registry REGEDIT and look for startup code in the most common places and some not so common places; again writing them down. You may have to Google this, because I wish to not list the strings at this time.

An example is –

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Another place to check is the Add/Remove programs to see if a weird program was put here.

After all this data is gathered I often reboot in safe mode and begin destroying the codes in the registry. I do this by searching for the names I gathered and looking for other files associated with the name of the original find. I delete and keep searching all the time keeping notes of program names. After years of doing this I have become quite effective and continue to learn all of the files to destroy. There are obliviously other things you can do and if needed I can put them here at a later time.

In closing I can only admit that it is quite fun to be your own detective when finding and slamming the code causing your PC problems.

Thanks Flood and very true all do spy on you watch with zone alarm and how so many ask for internet acess or other crap!!! And yes evan my favorite etrust when cracked comes up with a dammed web page on your pc all the time telling you to register it with them basically so they can spy better!!! so I just block them with routers and zonealarm and I highly agree about the list that Flood said if you would stay off half the sites you wouldnt get infected or use AVANT browser it has a drop down menu to disable active x java etc and especially flash player so your machine stays clean thats how I can go to my waraz key sites etc and get my stuff safely by shutting everything off then I go to all my sites and like flood hound I can count on my hands the times I have been infected very few!!! Like I said in my post I dont evan use that much on my own pc just 3 programs thats it and some simple measures!!! its really easy and thanks for the comments!!!! any qustions just ask!!!
