not really, it's actually just to complete my training. from biking arms and legs are really well trained already (yep, biking is good for the arms too!), but belly and and especially lower back (which is stressed a lot when biking) could use some more muscle support.
and well, also a good way to do something when the weather is too bad to do sports outside... :)

when I was younger I had lower back problems sometimes, but now I don't even remember when I had such problems the last time. so it's luckily not about getting rid of problems, it's about minimizing the risk...because in the last couple of years I have turned into a really enthusiastic mountainbike rider, and especially in the last 18 months I made a huge step forward because I stopped smoking. I ride hard and in a very sporty sitting position, and that can be stressful for the lower back, especially when riding for hours.... :)
