Tactical Shotgun

More Toys, More Security.

Added a new weapon to the family, a "Charles Daly" modded 12 gauge. Besides the tactical gear rails, it has a 2 shell holder in the stock for special ammo - my fave, slugs. Right now it carries 00 buckshot (9 balls) and rifled slugs on stand by. The slugs are Law Enforcement Low Recoil - you want the slugs to stay inside people not exit them. If I was shooting cars, I would have gone with Rottweill Breneke slugs as they penetrate lots of shit.

I will write up later when I get a suitable place to run the gun through some drills. Some indoor places do not allow buckshot to be used and I need to see how the buckshot groups on a target.

Probably add a sling with ammo belt on it. The flashlight is both steady on and strobe, the cool thing - at 15 to 25 feet - the light circle is the center of the shotgun sight - so I expect the shot pattern will be what ever you put the light on.

The only gear I wished I could put on the forearm is the 37mm grenade launcher - I could get one for $255.. where to find the shells for it..
Overkill? naw - its Suck-o Style "hell bringer".

someone remind me to take Cats out to the gun range, I am sure he could see the fun in a chemical reaction, loud noise, and the power to reach out and touch something.

Yo Flood. Yea I had looked at 223s, several out there, including Sig rifles now.

Image
Sig rifles are comparable to colt/springfield M4s in price and they are all set up with tactical rails.

I had to decide what the next caliber would be based on circumstances, for the wife to handle and for primarily home defense. So that was an easy choice to pick a shotgun.
Law Enforcement loads are actually available in low recoil, as they know they want slugs to stay in a body or home. Shotguns make an unwelcome sound when racked, 5+1 with 2 shells in the stock should get one out of most trouble (otherwise you are engaged in combat!)

This again was a response to pressures developing about the medical marijuana project. Enemies, rip offs are becoming more prevalent and aggressive. Got to renew a CCW. More Money means More Trouble.

yea, got bored. I used tape rather than paint - incase I might want to clean up the gun and sell it! Note shotshell in stock carrier with blue cap - that is my 'non-lethal' round. A hypervelocity plastic slug (a reverse plastic sabot without its 1 oz slug).

Make sure to check out the thread on the DMPS 5.56mm on this site!

The Hansen Shotgun is looking to be a POS. I have gotten too many 'double feeds' - where a round being ejected is trapped by a round being fed from the magazine. This gun has to go!

I admit, I do feel bad - other people are left defenseless by gun laws. I am not so sure they are a better off society.

Other options are pepper sprays, batons, air compressed weapons.

Of course if any of you make it to USA on a visa - come see me for training, I will bring you right up to speed...

Nice equipment,

I have a single shot 12 ga with mil 00b in it. I use it for the occasional varmint. I have been considering a pump 12 ga for a while but haven't decided exactly what I want yet.

However I have collected bunch of prints for different types of equipment over the years and might consider taking the best ideas from all and building my own this summer. Part of the reason I have not done this yet is no time and when I have the time no money for materials.

Is that necessarily a bad thing?

Ever heard the phrase when citizens aren't armed the only ones that are either criminals or government. Which do you trust more ?
