MIT cost about $40K in all. Its not that expensive but its difficult to get in. You have to do things above and beyond the average student.

Take a look here

In my opinion the money is the easy part. Hell I ended up paying $39K for my education so the monthly payments came out to be $400 a month. Considering all factors it is worth it to get that degree, not just for a job but to to understand the world we live in.

well i don't know how easy it is in USA to raise money that high, but i know how it is in Denmark, and i tell you it is not easy at all cause of the financial crysis, Denmark has been hit hard, all the companies has lost a lot of money and have stopped hiring people.

I would kill to get to MIT. One of my wild ambitions is to get a doctoral degree there :D
About the money issues, I heard that they give out a lot big scholarships and that a very low percent of their students actually pay for the whole tuition.

Money is the least of your concern, there is plenty of grant and scholarship money that can be augmented with student loans. Pel grants and scholarships don't need to be paid back, it's essentially free money for school, and loans only need to be paid back after you are no longer attending school.

don't let money hold you back, if you want an education, it will be provided. As for admittance, it does not hurt to apply, after all you can't win the lotto if you don't play the game.
