i was just wondering if it is possible to turn a playsation 2 console into a web or FTP server. i know it sounds a bit retarded but i dont really play on my PS2 anymore and thought i might turn it into something useful.
oh and i think its possible to install linux on it but im not sure how

it is possible, there was an original Linux pack for the PS2 but it's a little hard to get now....if you're in the US you would have to import it because it's sold out there. for info where to get it, etc. take a look here:

I also heard it's possible to run web/ftp servers by a special mod chip, but I found no real verification of that...

im pretty sure most or all consoles with a network/ethernet port can use FTP with a mod-chip...ive never mod'ed a playstation, but i have numerous times with xbox's
