My new site!!

Hey all, recently i was able to get my domain name and put up my site.
Its far from done but its a site for my schools french club, that im apart of.
So far i noticed the picture loading is somewhat slow.... im hosting it on my own server. so please check it out and w/e feedback you got post it and i'll take it into account when finishing it. (solutions or ideas to the slow picture loadings)

dude, resize the pic! it's much too large and therefore the filesize is huge...resize it and save it as .gif, will load much faster then....

reduced the size to 23.5 kb:

hey bad brain how did u get it down to 23 kbs?? i made it .gif and resized a bit and only got 59kbs. ?? but i still want it to appear the same size on the site so that when i stretch it across it doesnt get all pixly...

hm, I did nothing special, most likely the size is different.
reduce the size to the one that needs to be displayed, the original size was MUCH too large (4500x2000 or sth like that), you could also save it as .jpg and reduce the quality as much as possible.
anything up to 100kb is ok imo, but well, the smaller the faster it'll load...
