Hey guys its been a while since i've posted glad to see the community is still alive :D anyways on to the reason for this post.


Well im planning on seting up my own web server because i want to get into web devolopent a bit

anyway i visited httpd.apache.org of course and down loaded httpd-2.2.6

and circut bombs post mentions something about having to install the server

but no where within the folder is a setup.exe or anything along those lines =/

did i down load the wrong file or what?

edit: I Found out the file that i downloaded was the src code.

does anyone know wher ei could find the win32 .msi file?

Hey, after a quick google - here is a list of downloads from an apache mirror site.

http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca/pub/appl/ap ... ies/win32/

You can download with SSL, OPENSSL or no SSL. Your choice.

there should be links to .msi installation downloads on the apache site...

also just to let you know that when I wrote that tut i was using older releases of MySQL and PHP...

jus FYI if you run into any issues, should stil work but may have to do some troubleshooting

I tried gooogle last night but it was one of those nights lol

so i probably overlooked that

and for some reason i still cant find the .msi installtion downloads on apache :lol:

and i knew the tut was a little old but thanks for the heads up =D

Click the link, it's on that exact page. One of the links ending with .msi - choose which one, I cannot determine because I don't know fi you want SSL or not..etc.

No i ment i could not find the .msi links thru apache.org :lol:

i could find the link within the one you sent Big E just fine

but i finally found a working installation thanks guys
