A community project?

Post by Gogeta70 »

Hey everyone! I was trying to think of a way to have the community to work on something together. I've also been wanting to make an online game for a while now. I figure if anything, we could work together to make a web-based game that will blow other games out of the water.

Additionally, this could help suck-o gain new members. I figure if suck-o comes together and makes this happen, we could promote suck-o on the game site and potentially draw in new members. It's all up to you, this project will require a lot of people coming together to do this.

Anyway, this project will need the following:

A project manager and co-manager

A graphics designer to make the layout

A web developer to make the the pages (will need to know html, css, and javascript, or be able to use them appropriately at least)

2 PHP coders with knowledge of MySQL (i'm one of them)

A small team to help find bugs during and after development

Some people (including myself) to help come up with ideas and make sure they all work together to make this game work

And most of all... motivation!

Well, let me know. Later dudes.

Edit: I forgot to mention that i will be providing the server, ftp, etc.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It works on my machine...

Great idea gogeta70!

Obviously this will take some sorting out but like you said will bring everyone together with something to work on and the recognition in itself will be enough to put suck-o on the map one more point above the rest once again.

I will help with some testing and other things if have time. I am just on with my first web application in ruby on rails, bit of a head burner at the mo... more reading needed

I'll play the game - with my discerning eye, I'll look for the bugs and try to help with creative suggestions. I'll slap that baby like its a oil-slicked up hooker..

Whats the game? First person shooter? RPG shit?

Actually, it can pretty much be assumed that this project will require a fair bit of time. Especially the web-developer position since the person doing that will constantly be working out bugs in the layout and incorporating the php code into pages as well.

gogeta, i think a hacking game wont be a good choice.

How does a mafia game sound? Where you can make family's and start wars all sorts of shit.

Now that would be crazy

I disagree Insection.

After all this is a hacking site and if anything is to be made from a project then it really should stick within the boundaries of what the site is about.

Ok we have a gaming board but its not the no.1 area of the board for posts by no means. I do see what you are saying but we do need to keep things in context and if one goes well who knows what people may want to develop later. This may even bring a couple of the members together to start there own project up just like a few admin have here.

Look at this as a starting point of many things to come. Being involved in projects helps with creativity.

Its good that you are thinking and your mind is going wild with ideas. Like me, most maybe useless but keep going, one day it all may work and you could be the next Bill Gates

Ok, so let's see. We have the following:

Project manager: Me
Co-Manager: Open

Graphics: N3rd

Web Development: Mystikblaze

PHP/MySQL Coders:
1. Gogeta70
2. Ebrizzlez
3. Phasma (binary revolution forums)
4. Open

Bug Testers:
DNR
Computathug
Insection

Server/MySQL Support:
Bad_Brain

Does this sound right? I still need to find another php coder and someone to be the co manager...

what would the co-manager do?
To the wicked, I am merely too knowledgeable in their ways.
