FTP folders dissapearing after CHMOD

Sooooo... this is what happened, I needed to change the CHMOD on a folder with the use of FTP (filezilla) the oddest thing happened, the entire folder, dissapeared.... if I look for it manually, it says it doesnt exist. but if I want to create a folder with the same name, I cant because the system says its already in use.

I also forced the program to show me hidden folder...which it doesnt show..
has this happened before to someone else?

if so do you guys have a solution?

ive had instances of this happening, try changing your connection mode passive/active mabey?
