Re: Photo album and dropdown lists
hm, do you want to use a platform like Wordpress or Joomla, or do you want to do it from scratch?
from scratch it's of course a nice opportunity to learn, but it's also not simple and can even be pretty frustrating (at least if you hate Javascript as I do ).
for navigation effects nowadays moo tools is very widely used:
http://mootools.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
for building an image gallery (actually for the effects) there are different scripts which are pretty easy to embed into own code:
http://highslide.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.shadowbox-js.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Photo album and dropdown lists
first of all thank you for the links.
and i prefer to built it from scratch, 'cause as you said it's a great opportunity to learn, then when i get good at it, i can use wordpress when i feel lazy but at least i know how it works
i'll check the links.
