Lockpicking

Post by Nerdz »

Hey guys,

Not to long ago, I discovered the area of lockpicking... it's pretty fun, being able to defeat locks feels just like being able to defeat a security mechanism in a software :)

I was just wondering if there were other adept in the field?

That's what I use:

Code: Select all

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16417
This is pending:

Code: Select all

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16412
And I'm thinking about getting these:

Code: Select all

http://www.lockpickshop.com/PXS-14.html
using discount code :LSI (LockSport International)

To get into it, I read the MIT guide to lockpicking, view some videos on youtube and saw "A visual guide to lockpicking" movie. Bought some locks here and there and here I am!

lockpicking is my forte too, some people just have the touch

check out
http://www.lockpickingforensics.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.lockwiki.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My tools were simply dental tools modified, and a piece of spring steel as the torsion bar.

I always wanted to make an electronic lockpick, it just uses ultrasonic vibration to bump the pins - in theory - a dildo with a pick... :-k

lol @DNR :-99

But yeah... I got the feeling that using a lockpicking gun will be like using a shotgun to kill a fly, raking the lock is like using a flyswatter and doing it single-pin style is like catching it between your thumb and index

I use to pick pad locks, well all pad lock that were not Master locks but any lock made in China. The way I did it was to make a key form one of them by filing all the teeth down except one. Then I would simply insert the key and slightly turn it (applying light pressure) then wiggling it in and out till it opened.

Master locks wont pick like this only the cheap locks.

Hmmm I guess you were using Warded Lock

You were actually making skeleton key :). You can try key bumping which require you to fill the ALL the teeth down and use a small impact tool.

the real pros use pickguns and electronic lockpick guns - they work in seconds, and are restricted to LEO. Hence -make your own. its just a pick with a high frequency viberator.

Nerdz

No the locks I am referring to are the padlocks below.

The Master lock I could not pick using the techniques i mentioned.
Image

The locks that I could pick in under a minute, basically any of these types of locks are simple to pick as long as your filed down key fits in the mouth of the lock
Image

DNR in my opinion real pros pick locks with out buying any kits or guns - these kits can be traceable by Government agents. Making your own picks are virtually untraceable especially if make your picks from hacksaw blades etc...

The best lockpick I ever had was made from a wire that broke off a street sweeper (not AA-12 street sweeper, the kind with the rolling wire brush :D)
