The first and foremost rule of any worthy sysadmin or hacker;
1. Back it up. I created a CD that has all my appz on it. So after you do a clean install, install your trusted appz like antivir, firewall, tools (only trusted, proven tools) from the CD, you'll then visit the firewall/antivir site to get updated. Music files, emails, game saves should be backed up on disk or a internet portal. If you lose anything in a reinstall, its your fault because you didn't organize your system and back it up.

2. Hacking is a love/hate relationship. But you are ultimately in control, remember the box or OS will do what it was created to do, at your command. You become intimate with your box through study and hands-on trial, you gain more control through intelligence and learned hacker intutition. If you don't know how your box/OS works, maybe you should stick with AOL and MS Wordpad. Sort of like, if you don't take the time to get intimate(dating) with a girl, you should just stay home and jerk-off to Hustler.

Such is the way of the hacker.

I do tend to use the word "you" as a general reference to the reader to mean "anyone". I think my English Comp teacher warned me about using that word too loosely.

Sex? Remember you are on the internet, race, income level, locale, and sex mean nothing, what makes you stand out is your skill level, where you hang out, and personality. We are all friends here that have crossed the boundries of restrictions that comes with race, locale, and income levels, and even gender. No it was not hello world. I did that some time ago (that took me forever).
My little babe is like "tree pad". I dunno if you have ever heard of it. But the real thing is awesome. Mine is like this monster between two others and is modeled like tree pad.
