urgent !hink Ive been hacked

Post by Swan »

Noticed that my machine is very slow after 6pm despite being on broadband, and when i went to restart my machine, it sasy "turn off bobbiii" Ive never called my machien this.

What can I do? Both to check if I have been hacked, and best ways of eliminating the problem?
To the wicked, I am merely too knowledgeable in their ways.

I made a guide on this once, you can at least use the first steps to see if you are infected with anything.

I think another important thing is to make sure you consitently update your pc. becuase if you don't all the firewalls and antiviruses won't save you from attacks to get you to join some hackers bot net. They don't even do the work. I was reading this article http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/co ... 01342.html
and the guy doesn't even work hard at it, yet he consistently hacks 1000's of computers a night because people don't update. So if you paid for windows then update it, if you didn't find a way to patch it and update it.
