My roommate will not give me the router password so i was woundering if there is a way to open ports with out it or a way to get in the router

man, from what i know , need to have access to the router :? so that u can forword ports :)

which make and model?
try default password, you can get a list of them from google.
maybe try to guess the password, or install a keylogger so whenever he types the password it is logged.
Try bruteforcing(this should be the last resort) since your friend is never gonna sue you...lol

first scan the router to see if remote administration is enabled. if yes (usually on port 8080, at least on netgear ones) find out what brand/model the router is, try the default pass for the model...if this don't work because the pass have been changed look for known exploits.

if you know the router brand/model you can check if security flaws exist which can be used (exploited) to gain access... :wink:
