i took my old laptop out its OLD lol...ok well heres the spec's

Windows ME
P2
128mb Ram
Cisco systems 340 series wireless Lan Adapter
5.98gb Hardrive

LOL are these spec's even good enough to do anything with??

I dont have the ME disk nor do i have any of the driver disks for this baby, so im scared that if i reformat it and through linux on it, that itll be screwed up lol.

ALSO once i pop my wireless card, is there a program to scan for wireless around me, and choose which i want to connect to?? so i know NOTHING about wirless lol

um,well,my old lappy is a P2 too, but only with 48mb RAM and I run 2000 on it (XP don´t work because it demands at least 64mb). it´s not the fastest one of course but it´s ok for wardriving. Redhat9 worked too on it.
all you need is netstumbler to scan for networks/access points, to connect you simply enter the network name in your WLAN settings, that´s all (at least for unencrypted networks)...

I looked around a bit and it seems to be a well-known problem with the Cisco card, check if it works with this driver:

oh,and you still using ME on it? should be 2000 at least...
