How do I capture/get system and security hive files?

Can you be a little more specifik? =/

I found a read about hive files being an option when you want to export from the registry in Windows, but not much besides that.

Cheers, Yeh I was dumping from My local Registery When i had the idea of asseccing a networks SAM SECURITY and SYSTEM files
